Our Classes

Whether you're new to the Pilates environment or ready to take your practice to the next level we have a range of classes to suit the various needs of bodies from all walks of life.

Group Reformer Pilates

(8 clients per class)

Reformer Essentials (Level 1)

Essentials is where strong foundations are built. The focus of this class is on the 'how to' for each movement including correct setup, alignment, and breathing. Classes move at a steady, accessible pace and are suitable for anyone new to Pilates,  those returning after injury or those needing to be mindful of technique.

We welcome pregnant clients into Essentials classes and offer appropriate modifications to support mothers at this stage of their journey. Our Postnatal Programme feeds into this class, providing a guided pathway to rebuild strength safely and with confidence.

Essentials sets you up for long-term success across all other Reformer classes.

We recommend attending 4 – 8 Reformer Essentials classes before booking into Progress (Level 2).

Progress Reformer (Level 2)

Progress is where the strong foundations you’ve established begin to deepen. Challenge is increased through added load, greater range of movement, coordination and more dynamic sequencing.

This class is well suited to clients who are gaining confidence and feel familiar on the Reformer. Stability and control have been established, and clients are ready to take the next step and move in a more challenging flow.

Options and progressions are thoughtfully layered, allowing each individual to continue developing their practice without compromising technique.

Advanced Reformer (Level 3)

Advanced is our most challenging Reformer class. Designed for experienced clients with a solid Pilates foundation, this class explores varied applications of load through spring resistance and gravity, complex choreography, balance challenges and advanced variations.

You can expect faster transitions, increased intensity and repertoire that requires established strength, mobility and control. Exercises challenge coordination, precision and body awareness.

This class is best suited to clients who have consistently attended Progress and are ready to push their practice further.

A minimum of six months of consistent Pilates practice is recommended before booking Advanced Reformer classes.

Open Reformer (All Levels)

Open Reformer is a true mixed-ability class. Exercises are taught with layered options, allowing each client to work at a level that suits their body, experience and energy on the day.

If you enjoy flexibility and the opportunity to explore your practice and you feel confident tuning into regressions or progressions as needed, Open Reformer will be a good fit for you.

This is an inclusive class environment that welcomes all levels, with guidance provided to ensure everyone feels supported and appropriately challenged.

Specialised Programmes

Bones and balance

Bones & Balance is a specialised Reformer Pilates programme supporting bone strength, balance and lower-body stability.

Designed for adults aged 55 and above, these classes are carefully structured to support safe progression, confidence in movement and long-term independence.

This class has been assessed and approved by ACC as part of the Live Stronger for Longer movement.

TRX Training

TRX Training at Northlake Pilates is a technique-led strength programme designed to build functional strength, control and resilience.

Classes run for 45 minutes, allowing time for clear instruction, thoughtful progression and quality movement throughout.

TRX strength training complements Pilates beautifully; it’s challenging, highly effective boosts endorphins and as always, coached with care and integrity.

Postnatal Pilates

Our Postnatal Reformer Pilates programme is designed to support mothers to reconnect with their bodies gently and safely. We build confidence and strength in movement over time, without pressure to rush or perform.

At Northlake Pilates, Postnatal Reformer Pilates is offered as a two-stage pathway, allowing recovery and strength to rebuild at a pace that respects both your body and this season of life.

Absolute Essentials

Dedicated to supporting clients who are totally new to Reformer and Pilates. Absolute Essentials is a 2 hour introductory workshop held once per month specifically for new members to feed into group Pilates classes. 

Start your journey with clarity, confidence and an understanding of the fundamental principles of Pilates movement. No prior experience is required for this class.

If you are returning to exercise after injury, or if you are pregnant or postnatal (up to 18 months), please make contact prior to booking.
